Question 3

What have you learnt from your audience feedback?
We decided that doing a focus group would be a good and effective way to get feedback from our target audience on how they felt about all of the products. We asked 8 people to participate in the focus group.

We asked them to watch the whole of the music promo and then give us a thumbs up, thumbs down or thumb in the middle (if they was undecided or liked parts but not others) what their view was on it. 7 put their thumbs up and 1 put his thumb in the middle.

After this we asked them to give their honest opinion on what they felt about the music promo. All of them said that they enjoyed it and that they liked it, a couple said that the use of the 4 separate sections was used a little too much.

We also got them to send in text messages with what they thought about the ancillary tasks, with this it helped us to see them all laid out. It is also the tasks without the worry of what other people think.

This is one of the problems with a focus group, people intended to follow others and not actually give their honest opinion on what they feel about whatever the focus group subject is.

I have learnt that getting audience feedback is very important when it comes to doing something like this. It is because of this that helps you realise what the problems are that you might not have seen. It is also good to have a fresh pair of eyes on it when you have been doing it for so long.

I enjoy getting feedback from our audiences because it shows that they have taken the time to watch it and also what they think may work better.
