First of all we had to find a song that we could use for the music promo; unsigned.com is a really good place to find this sort of thing. Because of copy right and ownership issues it means that yo can use a new song that has been realised and is in the charts by famous singers and bands such as Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran or The 1975. This is because they are all signed to some sort of record label and have producers. They have copy right on their songs which means you have to pay to use their songs.
So with unsigned.com it meant all we had to do was ask the artist for their permission to use their song and then we was set to go. We emailed Andrea Storm Kaden and asked if we could use their song and they replied saying, that we could use the song and that they would like to see a copy of this song and that Andrea might put it up on her youtube channel if she liked it to use it as her actual music video for Ink Settles In.
I created an iMovie verision of the music video on my Apple MacBook and Beth did the final cut on the other Apple Mac that the Bourne Academy media department has in school.
Mia did the ancillary tasks on the Photoshop software that was available and created the two ancillary tasks. She changed the colours of the paint and it turned out to look really good and it was easy to synergies all of the products together.
When it came to shooting the music promo, I did the filming and photography, Mia as the Director and Beth was in the actual promo. What I found hard with the filming was because of the backing we had up at the wall to create a canvas and the background of the whole promo, it was hard to try and continuously get the back in and not have any of the walls behind it showing. This was a challenging and I was constantly having to check and double check the shot.
Another problem that I had was that the memory didn't last long and I had to upload the footage onto my mac to then delete it and then start the filming again. There wasn't any other way I could of got out of doing this.
